Overview
AER Energy is seeking a data-driven Carbon Analyst to support the quantification, modeling, and reporting of carbon removal across our energy infrastructure projects. This role plays a pivotal part in translating our engineered processes into measurable, verifiable climate impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Model carbon flows and removal potential across syngas, power, and methanol systems
- Develop and maintain life cycle assessments (LCA) and carbon intensity scores
- Interface with registry methodologies (e.g., Puro.earth, Verra) for MRV alignment
- Support third-party verifications and credit issuance
- Work with engineers to ensure carbon data integration from design through operations
- Monitor evolving standards in carbon accounting and removal science
Qualifications
- Degree in environmental science, engineering, data science, or similar
- 2+ years in carbon modeling, LCA, or emissions accounting
- Familiarity with ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, or project-level carbon methodologies
- Strong Excel and/or Python skills for modeling and data manipulation
- Excellent communication skills — especially in presenting technical data to non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience with biochar, BECCS, or syngas systems
- Exposure to carbon markets or credit registries
